Chat and chatbots

Learn how words are counted and charged in the Eleo chat and chatbots. You will also discover how to effectively reduce the costs of your conversations.

What is counted in the request

Every time Eleo gives you a response, your (or your client's, in the case of Chat Forum) account is charged based on the count of words used. Eleo calculates the word count using the following components:

• Actual request content The text that you wrote to Eleo and sent in the chat window.

• Eleo's response A response that you see in the chat window.

• Conversation history To “remember” the previous conversation, Eleo must have access to it. Therefore, all prior questions and answers are included with each request (up to 10,000 words).

• Conversation and message attachments

  • Conversations attachments are included with each request.

  • Message attachments are included with only one message. (Eleo will forget their content in the further conversation, but will retain the answers generated based on it).

  Attachments word count includes:

  • all the text content of the added Your Stories,

  • 20 most query-relevant parts, 2,500 words each, of all documents and webpages attached to the conversation or message (max. 50,000 words),

  • 20 most query-relevant parts, 2,500 words each, of all documents and webpages attached to the given Your Story (max. 50,000 words),

  • 1000 words for each attached image

• Advanced AI models When selecting an advanced AI model, each word in each of the components above is multiplied by a factor specific to that model. An exception is made for the fee for web search and attaching images — they are not subject to multiplication. How to choose the proper AI model in Eleo chat →

• Web search Enabling Internet searching will append 5,000 words to any request requiring data download, regardless of the model selected.

  • If Eleo decides, that it doesn't have to search the internet to answer your question, you will not incur any costs.

Reducing the number of words in the request

• Use as simple a model as possible In most cases, simple models can handle your requests just fine. Use the advanced ones for advanced purposes only.

• Remember about resetting the model You can change the model at any time during a conversation.

• Remember about disabling the web search Searching the web will delay Eleo's answer and cost you an additional 5,000 words per request (If Eleo decides that it is needed). Don't use it if you don't need it.

  • Instead of searching the internet, you can simply attach a website to the conversation

• Limit conversation history Each time you change the subject, let Eleo “forget” about the previous conversation — the history words won't be included in further requests. To do this, you can approach one of the following steps:

  • Start new chat Start a completely new conversation

  • Forget chat history Eleo will forget the previous conversation, but it will be still visible to you.

  • Compress chat history The previous conversation will be summarized for Eleo and will be sent in shortened form. While some specific details might be omitted, the overall context and key points will be preserved. You can execute this action multiple times during one conversation.

• Consider using a task-dedicated tool Eleo's dedicated tools have optimized prompts, designed to serve particular purposes. Creating the text in Writer will probably cost you fewer words than doing it in the chat conversation. Check out our other tools:

Charges in Eleo chatbots

Depending on the place of publication, the costs of conversations with chatbots are charged to the chatbot's owner, or the user conducting a conversation.

• The user pays for chatbots published on the Chat Forum

• The owner pays in chatbots published under the direct link, on a webpage, and Telegram.
